You can find four different kinds of beans in our Texan Four Bean Chilli soup. Our GLORIOUS! chefs worked tirelessly to find the best selection to pack into our hearty, healthy, warming soup and one of the first beans to make the cut was simple. The red kidney bean!

What are Kidney Beans..?

If you’ve not heard of the kidney bean before, don’t worry about the name; kidney beans get their name because of their shape and colour. So why did we include them in our Texan Four Bean Chilli soup? It’s simple really…

Because it’s a Chilli..!

A chilli con carne without a red kidney bean is like a Dolly Parton concert without a spangly cowboy hat. From a home cooked evening meal to the saloon bars of Texas, you’ll not find a chilli without these little bundles of joy.

They taste soooo good…

With a soft and creamy centre, the smoothness and nuttiness of the red kidney bean makes it a perfect choice for our GLORIOUS! chefs. They also soak up flavour really well, making every bean a 4th of July firework exploding over a cattle ranch in the Lone Star State.

Kidney Beans are really good for you…

Finally, kidney beans have so much goodness to offer. They’re full of protein, iron, magnesium, potassium, dietary fibre, healthy heart fats…(the list could go on). They are a truly wondrous ingredient.

That’s why we chose kidney beans as just one of the ingredients in our Texan Four Bean Chilli soup. Also, “Three Bean Chilli” just doesn’t have the same ring to it...
